About Me
Do you remember what you were doing the first time you heard "Criminal Minded"? How about the first time you heard "Kind of Blue"? How about the first time you heard "Come Inside" by Minnie Riperton? You stopped dead in your tracks to absolve that musical moment. Then you bought it, and you wore it out. You played it to death. That is, until the next hot jam came along. Do remember the very first song that made you stop what you were doing? Maybe it was the lyrics? Maybe it was the melody? Music has always been a major part of my life, and early on, I knew that I wanted to spread the latest sounds on to everyone else. From the beginning, I have been committed to finding "that" song. That song that you had to hear over and over like "Everybody Loves the Sunshine" or Soul to Soul's "Keep on Movin'". All genres have had an effect on me from "A Love Supreme" to "Illmatic", music became my companion. It has always been there for me, and I'm certain that it will always be there for me.
My passion for the music is the inspiration behind Catchagroove—to promote the many flavors such as soul, house, funk, RnB, jazz, hip hop, broken beat and Afro beat.
Over the years, what used to be the norm for good music has become independent or underground while mainstream acts continue to recycle watered down tunes. The independent artists are carrying the torch for quality music. Too many quality tracks by quality artists fail to reach the masses, and as a result, they will have to search for a new record deal or put out the music themselves. Catchagroove hopes to bring more exposure to those who thirst for something new and expand the memberships of the underground community.
As for the music? Well, the quest for good music is endless. I find new music frequently, and the songs that have that ability to move you will be introduced to everyone right here. So to everyone, I say Welcome! Enjoy and continue to support independent artists.
