Natalie Williams - Secret Garden
Natalie Williams may not be familiar to those stateside. In the UK however, she is turning heads with her excellent CD, Secret Garden.
After two singles dropped last year "Butterfly" & "The way we like it", I had been patiently waiting for this album to be released. I finally received it and I haven't been disappointed. The album starts off the title track and you're introduced to Natalie's world that's peaceful and serene. She sings "No forbidden fruit here, skies are always blue, erase all your pressure, Here's my gift to you", a nice song to start the album off with. The track "The way we like it (Featuring Ty & Eska)" has a nice rhumba feel to it that urges you to turn the volume up and move your body. "Psychedelic Love" is a beautiful song with nice string arrangements courtesy of the Heritage Orchestra. The third single "This Girl" is a wonderful feel good song that has that 70's soul music feel to it. Other notable tracks are "Wall", "Conversation" and "You don't know". This is modern soul music at its best along with great production courtesy of Drew Horley (Roots Manuva). Natalie Williams is a great talent with a bright future. All she needs now is some distribution to the US to provide some much needed exposure. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the "Secret Garden". You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
