Nomumbah - Love Moves
Yoruba Records founder Osunlade has been churning out massive songs from the moment he launched his label. He now adds to his roster the three man team from Brazil better known as Nomumbah. Their impressive debut, Love Moves is very rich in Brazilian flavor yet it has skillfully blended elements of broken beat, house and electronica. Right from the start, the track "Outono" seduces you with warm, elegant sounds and jazzy elements. "Latin Lover" is a very nice downtempo tune complemented with a nice organ grooves, not to mention the strings serve as icing on the cake. One of my favorites is "Song for Mi Padre", a beautiful cut with great instrumentation, particularly the percussion work and the violin just adds to the elegance of the track. This entire cd just flows from one track to next. Mainly because these guys have nailed it as far fusing all the musical layers to their Brazilian tradition. Well produced and definitely no fillers here, just great music. Highly recommended.
