Vikter Duplaix - Bold and Beautiful
Philly's own Vikter Duplaix has carved out a very strong resume for himself. Initially starting out his career as a DJ, then as a producer, Vikter shows that his voice may be his greatest attribute. After 2004's "Singles", a compilation of some of the singles he has recorded over the years, he has returned with "Bold and Beautiful" a sensual and seductive offering that is sure to take you on a romantic journey. On the opening track "Stimulation", a mid-tempo bass heavy tune with an accompanying acoustic guitar, Vikter sets the mood for the entire disk by creating an atmosphere that is delicate and tender (I'm gonna stimulate, make it hot!). On "Another Great Love Gone By," featuring Esthero, the haunting beat just lures you into Vikter's world of love and romance. The journey takes a different turn midway through the disc with "I See The Sun" Feat.
Tye Tribbett and G.A. This uplifting track, bolstered by the infectious broken beats and the energy provided by Tribbett and G.A. is simply irresistible. "In The Middle of You" is a slow burner that finds Vikter yearning to be closer to the one he loves in mind, body and spirit. At the same time, he manages to exude eroticism without being vulgar, as is the case with so many of our young r-n-b artists today. The tone of Vikter's voice may remind you of an artist we haven't heard from in a while, Sade. Make no mistake, Vikter has his own vibe and plenty of skills to stand on his own.
